The process of pool construction is not always clear-cut let alone, on time. Several scheduling conflicts, often having to do with the contractors, held up the build a couple of times.
Despite the delays at times, we highly recommend this company for a pool construction project. The pool was done and operational just I time for summer. Absolutely worth the investment for our home.

MAX WAS AWESOME as our construction project manager.
Max was present for every stage of the construction. He looked over the work to ensure construction was done correctly. Max was able to make changes in real-time. He looked over the pool design and provided us with helpful addition that we might have missed or don't know about from his pool building experience.

Sales Stage: Ms. Beth Gerrard and her sales team were amazing. At this stage we had to go back to the drawing board several times to figure out a design that would fit our our wants and budget. The sales agent was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and motivated to create a design suitable for us. At no point, we felt that we were been sold the pool that they had in mind; they always worked to sell the pool my wife and I had in our minds.
Pricing: At the time of quote, the KZP price was competitive when compared to 4 other companies. KZP reputation and organizational structure weighted heavily on our decision.
Design Center/Materials: The material selection offered by KZP is very extensive. Selecting the materials can be overwhelming. Elizabeth at the design center made this process very easy and enjoyable. While this is the second pool we build, we relied heavily on Elizabeth’s expertise and experience to determine the tile, plaster, and colors to be used. My wife and I are grateful for Elizabeth’s input. The pool looks amazing.
Project Execution: My wife and I are grateful for the expertise and professionalism of Marie Caiazzo and Paul Espurvoa along with the different work crews. Going into the project, my wife and I were concerned about the project specific challenges due to the unique terrain features. Specifically, our yard is on a hill and it has three leveled sections instead of a slope. We wanted the pool in the top area. This challenge did not face the KZP crews.
Paul Espurvoa was our project superintendent. Paul’s professionalism, knowledge, customer service skills and leadership are amazing. Paul ensured that we were informed of what was going on in our project at all times. He never failed to communicate with us. We always felt that we were part of the entire construction process. Throughout our project, Paul made us feel confident that we had made the right decision to build with KZP. The few times we had to do change orders/modifications to the initial plan, Paul was quick to provide his expert advice which was very instrumental in us making informed decisions. Paul’s high professional standards and commitment to the clients greatly represent him and KZP.
Work Structure: Except for one or two project tasks, mostly everybody that worked in our pool project is an employee of KZP. This brought peace of mind to know that our project was not at the mercy of sub-contractors. Every stage of the project was done by specific crews that are used to working together and exhibited cohesion. We had the excavation crew, the plumbing crew, the rebar crew, the gunite crew, the finishing crew and the clean up crew. This structure is great as the teams/crews stay in the project until their part is complete. This work structure made our project flow in a highly orchestrated manner and without headaches.
In conclusion, I recommend KZP to anyone wanting to build a high quality pool without headaches or hiccups. KZP uses quality materials as well as experts throughout the entire project. My wife and I are very happy with the pool that was built. Having selected KZP for our pool project brings great peace of mind to us.

Thank You. From Mr. E.J. B
During construction, our superintendent, Marcos did a fantastic job. He was great at communicating to us during every phase of construction and he got the pool done even more quickly than we thought it would. He was quick to respond to any concerns and issues we had. He went the extra mile to make sure we had a great experience with Cody Pools.
Dillon and Tre were outstanding during our final pool school phase with Cody Pools. They both were super informative and very personable. They always made sure that I was understanding what they were teaching and demonstrating. And they even provided their contact information so I can reach out to them at any time in the future if I have any questions, issues or concerns. They receive my highest recommendation!
I highly recommend them for your pool needs.
We challenged Peter to come up with a design that fully integrated into our existing patio and landscape and he brought us a vision that was original, highly functional and simple to maintain, and above all beautiful. He educated us in the pros/cons of our decisions and helped to make sure we would love our pool once it was all said and done.
Dominique for his part had the difficult task of managing the project start to finish and continued to support us long after the pool was full and running. He is diligent, thorough, and works as hard as anyone we’ve seen in the construction industry.
Pictures speak volumes and we look forward to many years of enjoying our backyard oasis. Thank you Peter, Dominique, and the entire Cody Pools team!

What Costs The Most When Building A Pool In Texas?
Before you plan your dream pool, it’s important to understand the monetary breakdown. Although it’s difficult to say what exactly will cost the most when building your dream pool, here are a few of the most expensive aspects of pool construction:
- Labor: Constructing an inground pool is an intricate process that demands specialized skills and expertise. The process involves several steps such as excavation, plumbing and electrical installation, foundation laying, and the actual construction of the pool bed itself. Each of these tasks requires significant attention to detail and technical know-how, which contributes to the overall cost of labor.
- Material: Material expenses can vary greatly as there are a few different materials that are commonly used in Texas pool builds. Among the most common are fiberglass, concrete and vinyl.
- Maintenance: Many homeowners overlook or don’t have an in-depth understanding of long-term maintenance costs associated with owning a pool. These expenses may include cleaning, chemical balancing, and servicing of pool equipment, along with water and electricity costs.
What Is The Average Cost To Build A Pool In Texas?
Now that we have an idea of some of the pricier aspects, here’s the million-dollar question – how much can you expect your entire project to cost?
If we’re just talking initial costs and discounting long term expenses, the average pool in Texas can cost between $45,000 and $100,000. That’s a wide range, but a hefty price tag either way. If you’re like most Texans, you’ll need pool financing.
Think about all the pool parties, endless relaxation, and having the“go-to” hangout right in your backyard – priceless. Check pool financing offers with no credit impact today.
What Is The Most Expensive Part To Install An Inground Pool In Texas?
Besides labor, materials, and maintenance, the equipment you opt for when building your new pool will greatly affect that total cost.
- Pump: A pool pump can cost anywhere from the low hundreds to thousands depending on the size of your pool, the power of your pump, and any a-typical plumbing needs.
- Filter: A good filter can average around $1,200. This is typically something you won’t want to “go cheap” on, as it has the important job of keeping contaminants out of your sparkling water.
- Heater: Although a heater is not a necessity for your pool to function, you may want one if you choose to utilize your pool year-round. Prices vary widely, but a good heater can cost thousands.
- Cover: When you’re not using your pool, you’ll likely want a cover to help keep it clean and keep your family (especially young children and pets) safe from accidentally falling in. These can run around $1,200 to $3,000.
What Is The Cheapest Inground Pool Prices Installed In Texas?
If you’re on a budget, but still want to beat the Texas heat – you might be wondering how to build a pool for cheap. Although pool building and “cheap” don’t exactly go hand in hand, there are cheaper options. To save on material costs, you can opt for a vinyl liner pool. The cost for a vinyl liner pool may run between $10,000-$25,000.
It is important to keep in mind that while a low-priced inground pool may provide some initial cost savings, it could ultimately result in higher expenses over time due to the need for frequent maintenance or repairs. Texas’s intense Summers may contribute to an increased likelihood of damage to certain materials.
What Type Of Pool Is Best In Texas?
You might now be wondering what pool materials do last long-term, even in Texas heat. Most pool professionals will say without missing a beat, fiberglass. Fiberglass is resilient and the only pool material that easily withstands regular temperatures of over 100 degrees.
How Can I Save Money Building A Pool In Texas?
If you still want to build with quality materials that will last but still need to build a pool on a budget, here are a few ideas to cut costs:
- Size: Consider opting for a smaller pool. This will save on material, labor (time), utility, and maintenance costs.
- Time of year: That’s right, pool building has an “off-season.” Typically, it may be more expensive to build a pool in the Spring when everyone is gearing up for Summer’s heat waves.
- Keep it simple: Avoid any extras such as water features, unnecessary landscaping, heating elements, and lighting.
- Choose the right contractor: TGUC makes comparing quotes easy.
Is It Worth The Money To Build A Pool In Texas?
Now that we know a little bit more about how much your pool build may cost, you’re probably wondering whether or not it’s worth it. The answer to that depends entirely on where your priorities lie. If you value having a peaceful place to relax and recharge, exercise, and staying cool in the brutal Texas heat – building a pool is absolutely worth the money.
Before you get started, consult with a reputable pool builder to get an estimate for the pool you’re envisioning and factor that into your decision.
How Long Does It Take To Build A Pool In Texas?
Building a pool can take anywhere from just a few weeks, to an entire season depending on the size of your pool, features in your yard, soil type, and a number of other contributing factors. Don’t make those backyard BBQ plans just yet.
Does A Pool Increase Property Value In Texas?
As any Texan knows, our Summers are hot. This means that a home with a pool can quickly jump to the top of any Texan home buyer’s list. Although adding a pool to your backyard can increase your home’s value, it would be worth doing some market research on homes with pools in your area to see if it would bring in any return if your plan is to sell right away. This can vary greatly by area. The potential buyer can also impact the value as some may desire a pool while others may not.
